Save the Metolius River

1000 Friends of Oregon

The clear waters of the Metolius River spring from the ground near the base of Black Butte on the eastern slope of the Cascade Mountains. These famous headwaters flow into a Wild & Scenic River that passes through Ponderosa Pine forests near the small community of Camp Sherman.

Today, the Metolius' clean, spring-fed water is under serious threat and 1000 Friends of Oregon need your help to protect it.

Two controversial destination resorts are being proposed in the Metolius Basin. These resorts, if developed, would draw their water from the springs that feed the Metolius River. Current state law is inadequate to protect water flows and wildlife in the Metolius Basin from destination resorts. That is the reason your support is critical.  Sign a petition to protect the Metolius River.
