Oregon Wild has members throughout the state who want to be more involved, but often don't know where to start. Action Teams introduce Oregon Wild members to one another and increase their opportunity to make a difference while developing friendships.
The teams provide members with a support structure of other like-minded folks to help them find ways to work together to protect Oregon's wild lands. They will also help increase Oregon Wild's impact on Oregon politics.
Action Team members pledge to do one activity a month and each team has one or two leaders to organize and be the liaison with the Oregon Wild staff. A sample of activities include:
- developing a phone tree,
- fax or e-mail network to keep team members apprised of important issues requiring letters or phone calls,
- meeting once a month for a potluck and letter-writing party, or
- attending local hearings as a group.
