COMMUNITY OUTREACH:

Do you enjoy talking to people?

How about attending festivals and community events around town?

The Oregon Environmental Council needs volunteers to help staff our booth at various events in the Portland area. Being out in the community gives us a chance to connect people to solutions and gets the word out about all of OEC’s fantastic work, which makes us more successful. To do this, we need outgoing, eco-happy people like you!

Typically, tabling is on weekends, morning shift and afternoon shifts, maximum three hours, and while volunteers are encouraged to develop their own style communication skills are a definite plus. OEC has had a booth at such recent events as the Green Sprouts Organic Baby Festival, the Salmon Festival, the Give Green Fair, Bare Naked Ladies Eco-Village (including free seats to the show!) and the Portland Auto Show.  In March we will be at Babyfest and Portland International Women’s Day, with unknown opportunities popping up.

If this sounds likes a fun way for you to help us move towards a greener, healthier Oregon, give Rachael a call at 503-222-1963 ext. 115, or e-mail volunteer at oeconline.org.
