New rule will cut benzene in NW gas

Benzene levels in Northwest gasoline should drop by nearly three times by 2015

The Oregonian, Feb. 9, 2007

The federal government will force Northwest refineries to produce gasoline with lower levels of benzene, a toxic compound that rises to dangerous levels in the air in and around Portland and the rest of the region.
