How you can get involved:

There are lots of ways you can volunteer with Friends of the Columbia Gorge. Volunteer opportunities include:

    - Letter-writing to officials and newspapers
    - Attending meetings and public hearings
    - GIS mapping
    - Legal research
    - Gorge photography
    - Technology support
    - Leading and assisting on hikes
    - Hands-on stewardship projects
    - Data entry and computer work
    - Activist phonebanking
    - Tabling at community events
    - General office and clerical assistance

Outdoor Volunteering

Outdoor volunteers also "shepherd" all our Spring and Fall hikes by assisting with planning hikes and helping experienced leaders ensure safe, memorable hikes in the Gorge.

Friends' stewardship volunteers are making a dramatic difference at Bridal Veil State Park, digging out invasive English ivy and dense blackberry thickets that choke out native vegetation and damage wildlife habitat. Bridal Veil is just 30 minutes from Portland, and we welcome volunteers—no experience necessary!

We can schedule stewardship projects for church and community groups, schools, scout troops, and other organizations. To get involved in restoring this magical Gorge landmark (without poisonous herbicides or toxic chemicals), email renee@gorgefriends.org, or call 503-241-3762 x 106.
