The Central Oregon Environmental Center serves as a
Community Center for Environmental Education and Action. 

Our unique mission enables thousands of Central Oregonians and visitors to this region the opportunity to engage with a network of 40 environmental organizations -our Member Groups- working to restore and protect the High Desert region. 

Through the Environmental Center individuals become educated about regional environmental issues and quickly find a "home" for their energy and passion.  Each year the Environmental Center connects over 1,000 individuals with direct efforts that help to sustain and restore this beautiful and unique Central Oregon region. 

Although we recognize that direct action is one way to support a healthy environment, we also believe that indivdual lifestyle choices can have a tremenndous envionmental impact, which is why we've recently launched a new program, The Green Spot.  The Green Spot, found at www.thegreenspot.org, is a comprehensive resource guide for living a greener life in Central Oregon. 

The site features a listing of eco-friendly products and services in the Green Purchasing section, a list of environmentally focused nonprofit organizations and government agencies in the Local Resources section, an extensive EnviroFAQ section and a complete EnviroEvents calendar.  The site also features a section on Volunteer, Internship and Job Opportunities.
