Position Description: The Volunteer Receptionist will help to leverage staff time and keep the busy BTA office running smoothly by: answering phones and referring calls, greeting and assisting visitors to the office, and other projects as time and interest allow.
Duties:
1. Answer phones
- Provide information as able
- Refer callers to appropriate staff members or take messages as necessary
- Refer callers to outside resources as appropriate
- Check voice mail periodically
2. Greet visitors to office
- Provide information as able
- Refer questions to appropriate staff members
- Facilitate bike locker rentals
- Point out maps and other paper resources
- Assist with membership sign-ups as necessary
3. Restock maps and printed materials in front office area
4. Other projects as time and interest allow
Time Commitment:
4 hour shift (9-1 or 1-5), once per week; 6 months minimum commitment preferred
BTA will provide:
- Training on phone system and other office systems
- Reference materials to assist in answering questions
- Occasional treats and everlasting admiration and gratitude
