Connecting Green

BTA Executive Director Scott Bricker appointed to Blue Ribbon Committee for Trails

Press Release

Connecting Green is a Metro Council-organized initiative to create the world's greatest system of parks, trails, and natural areas. The Portland-Metro area is surrounded by hills and mountains, laced with rivers and streams, and gifted with stands of ancient trees, valleys and canyons, and forested buttes. This natural inheritance provides clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, and trails and parks to enjoy. This wealth of nature gives us an opportunity to create one of the world's greatest park and natural area systems. This opportunity, however, will not be realized unless action is taken to capitalize on it. Connecting Green is that initiative.

As part of the Connecting Green initiative, Metro Council created the Blue Ribbon Committee for Trails. The committee is comprised of civic, elected, business, and non-profit leaders who are charged with proposing a funding strategy to complete the region's network of bicycle and walking trails.

BTA Executive Director Scott Bricker was appointed to the Committee for Trails in April.
