Protecting Guatemalan forests (and the birds who live there)
The raucous, striking, and endangered scarlet macaw is one of the world's largest parrots. With its creamy white face and brilliant red, blue and yellow plumage, the bird is a target for poachers, who sell them on the black market. This is just one trend endangering the scarlet macaw and other species that inhabit Latin America's forests. Rainforest Alliance is working to stop the macaw's decline. (more...)
