Set your office up with an Earth Share Lunch & Learn program
Salem Monthly
Environmental experts are available to conduct "Lunch & Learn" programs at Oregon workplaces through a program coordinated by Earth Share of Oregon, the state's largest federation of green groups.
"The 68 local and national groups that make up our federation are anxious to set up dialogs with businesses," said Meghan Humphreys, workplace fundraising director for Earth Share of Oregon. "We often do these Lunch & Learns as part of a fundraising campaign, but the fundraiser is not a requirement. Our groups understand how important the business community is to their missions."
The presentations run from 30 to 90 minutes and are free. There are more than 40 topics available, ranging from "How To Commute By Bike" to "Biofuels in the Pacific Northwest" to "Protecting The Willamette River."
Humphreys says talks on global warming are drawing the most interest these days.
